A film financer threatens to sue Hollywood's power couple.
Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett-Smith are being sued by a film investor who financed a film written by Pinkett-Smith but did horribly in sales.
According to financialexpress.com, The film Human Contract, which also starred Pinkett-Smith, failed as a box-office hit and the investor claims he was under a "guranteed return" policy if the film went belly-up. Subsequently, the Smiths are countersuing and have filed legal papers in a Los Angeles court to avoid the cash plea from their former business partner.
According to TMZ.com, the Smiths argue they are not to blame for the film's failure as the project went straight to DVD making little or no money. The Smiths also stated they never promised to pay back investors and are seeking a judge to declare they are not liable for the investors' money loss. |
