Smag introduces, spotlight DJ, DJ Emiliot out of Europe.

When you hear, ‘Peace Love & Muzik,’ think of West African native DJ Emiliot, who has definitely made a name-or several, for himself.  Born Didier Emile- Pierrot, he is also known as, El DJ Loco, Mr. OK OK, and Mr. LOCOSHOWRADIO. Having several different talents, he is a Radio Host/On Air Personality, Mixtape DJ, Mobile DJ, and Club DJ. He was raised in France for a while, before returning back to his hometown in Togo, and finally beginning his career in Senegal.

In Senegal is where he was first introduced to the Hip-Hop culture. He began listening to some well known pioneers like KRS One, EPMD, Naughty by Nature, even French rap, IAM, Supreme NTM, and Senegalese bands as PBS and Daraa-J.  He started his career in 2002 as a radio host after meeting Saymon on Radio Energie. He fell in love with djing during a concert with DJ Lord Chamy (Ex-DJ of MC Lyte).  From there he mixed at some parties, while doing his radio show, and presenting a music video show called, “Clip Actions”, with Ben-J.

By 2003 Emiliot had made his way to Belgium, there he mixed at a private club called, “La Jungle”, before taking a break for his studies.  It wasn’t long before he made his way back on the radio for a new show called “El DJ Loco Show”, where he played hip-hop and rap. His career has made strides, after making his first mixtape, “Let’s Ride”-which is free to download on the internet-he, was contacted by Serge Vallet to host a reggae and reggaeton show on Afrikamedia Internet Radio, out of that came, “Caliente Vybz”. After about ten months, he moved on to hosting his own radio show called, “French Connection”, on TOP FM Dakar 107.0, a local station in Senegal.

Now, he has made his way to being International Squad Leader of the Slip-N-Slide DJ’s and the Fleet DJ’s International Co-V.P. He can be heard every Friday from 3 to 5pm USA E.T. / 9 to 11pm Europe (Paris or Brussels) time on Elephantprint Radio (www.elephantprint.com/radio) and Reewine music (www.reewinemusic.com).
