Mr. Grim 2 Da Reapa Coming Through & Killing the Game

Although Mr. Grim 2 Da Reapa (Grim for short) comes in with such an eerie name, up and coming rapper and wordly entertainer, Grim, is taking a positive route with this rap game.  His story is one that's definitely going against the grain, despite the state of the game right now.  Standing on his own in his path of sending a positive message to the world, he's taking us to church, getting you to keep holding on, staying in tuned to the prophezing, and definitely making the ladies love him with his universal and worldly swagga.  More importantly, Grim has also caught the attention of many heavy weights in the game right now, from 99 Jamz DJ, DJ Griot, to Maybach Music DJ, Sam Sneaker, who have co-signed his talent and put their stamps on his honest work.

SMAG (Rocky):  How did you get started with music or trying to be in the industry?

GRIM:  Basically, I've always loved poetry, the arts, always loved enlightenment, consciousness, spirituality, and the best way to really talk to people and touch them is through music.  [I believe] music is a universal language which has opened a doorway for me to bring a mission of consciousness & awareness. Many people in high positions have told me that Hip-Hop fans don’t want to hear reality and it would never sell, especially in the South, but this has only motivated me to push harder. 

SMAG (Rocky):  OK, I hear that.  What's your real name?  I know it's just not "Grim."

[laughs]

GRIM:  Well, Grim is what everyone calls me, ever since I started my career.  No one calls me by my real name, even my mama calls me Grim.

SMAG (Rocky):  Well, alright then. 

[laughs] 

A lot of you may be wondering, "well if his message is so strong and positive, why such a 'grim' name?"  Well, considering the initial meaning, Grim has, of course, put his own positive spin on his name, "God's Reason Is Mine Realistic Energies Are Present Alwayz."  Noting his positive vibes, Grim has not direct denomination, but does site and respect each religion because at the end of the day, he believes he is here to spread the message of a "universal truth" and his mission and messages are "bigger than [he is]."  "I don't give a fuck about fame and fortune, words are what's important." 

SMAG (Rocky):  What made you choose the name "Grim Reapa?"

GRIM:  Well basically, people fear death, but they don't really realize that death and life is really a balance, it's really oneness.  We tend to separate things and make a duality of everything and sort of messes up the world.  But basically, even through death, life springs forth.  Most of my music really represents life.
 
SMAG (Rocky):  How has your fan response been over the past year or so.

GRIM:  I've been performing like crazy and more recently a lot more better paying shows.  I've been even performing more out-of--town, so the fan response has been great.     

SMAG (Rocky):  How does your family feel about the path that you've chosen.

GRIM:  At first, they didn't really understand, but now that they see people are following my positive message and I'm trying to reach people in a positive way through my music, they're very supportive and want me go for it.

SMAG (Rocky):  Explain what you're saying and single, "What's the Prophesizin'" means.

GRIM:  Well, basically it's just my greeting, like "hello", etc.  Just wanting to know what's on your mind.  I also call the ladies queendoms and dudes kingdoms because we're all kings and queens roaming around.

SMAG (Rocky):  OK, tell me about your production team and who you run with here in Miami.

GRIM:  Well, first and foremost, I'm always with Young McFly, shouts out to him.  But you can catch me all over Miami and Broward, it's just love with everyone I come in contact with, but shouts out to my peoples, RocNFreeze, Head Coach Ent, Street Connect DJ's, Donk Ryders, Ice Berg and Fella, just everyone.
